Zoo Lights/ Utah Hogle Zoo
Zoo Lights is a great seasonal event that brings the Christmas season to Utah’s Hogle Zoo. Although the zoo animals won’t be out during the night, there’s over 200 lighted animal and holiday-themed displays. Follow a lighted path as it guides you through the zoo grounds. All displays are custom-made for Zoo Lights out of Bakersfield, CA. Walk through the 135-foot long lighted tunnel which is a crowd favorite. This is an excellent way to treat that special someone to a special night.

The Living Planet Aquarium
The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is a local favorite and attracts over 850,000 annual visitors from across the region. The aquarium is located right off of I-15. You can’t miss it as you drive by. Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is 136,000 square-feet and has grown tremendously over the years. In 2004, the organization opened a 10,000 square-foot facility in the Gateway Mall downtown. Two years later, they moved to a 43,000 square-foot facility in Sandy that attracted 430,000 visitors per year. The new facility received funding in 2011, currently sits on 27 acres, cost $27 million and hosts 4,500 animals.

Sledding at Soldier Hollow
Soldier Hollow is a little slice of winter paradise in the Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway. Their sledding hills are 1,200 feet long, boasting the longest sledding lanes in Utah. No need to worry, there’s a lift service that takes you to the top of the 1,200 foot sledding lane. There’s outdoor speakers playing music enhancing your sledding experience.

Ice Skating at the Gallivan Center
The Gallivan Center has an excellent outdoor ice skating rink that opens Friday 11/19 and runs through the winter season, really until it gets hot enough to melt the ice. This is one of the best winter time date night activities as you and your date are downtown, on the ice with the pretty lights adding some romantic ambiance to your date. This winter date idea in Utah has to be the most romantic of them all.

Ice Skating at the Gallivan Center
Bodega is a really interesting bar. From the street, the sidewalk looking in, the main floor is really small. It looks like it might hold 30 people. What you don’t see is the massive underground bar separate from the top. This downstairs section is where you can sit down, enjoy a meal and have a drink. This is a great place to take that special someone on a date unlike any other. The rustic architecture and design is paired with beautiful chandeliers and strung up lights. The best part is the seclusion, it feels like you’re in a spy movie with a hidden back room. It truly is an unforgettable experience.

Who would ever think that Utah has a rather active nightlife? Those that come from out of state most likely assume Utah being the “Mormon State” would hardly have incredible watering holes.
