The weather is starting to get warm and the snow hasn’t quite melted yet. An interesting combination of warm and cold offering a mix of spring time activities in Park City Utah.
Fly Fishing
Utah offers some great fly fishing recreation. There are rivers that run through Park City where locals can be seen fishing. Some of the best fly fishing is done on the Provo River. The Upper Provo River is closest to Park City and offers some decent fishing as the water flows slowly here and is more safe than the middle and lower Provo River. Guides are readily available for hire and can help you land some gnarly fish. A bad day of fishing is still better than being at work.
Spring Skiing
As long as there’s still snow on the ground, there’s skiing to be had. As long as the temperatures don’t get too high, the resorts can produce snow for those gaps in between storms. Luckily the elevations here keep temperatures low enough so the snow sticks around a little longer than in the Salt Lake Valley. The snow is generally a little more slushy than powdery. Ski tourism starts to die down as well.
Snowshoeing
A little exercise is great for the body and the soul. Now that the sun is up longer in the afternoon thanks to the time change and the temps are getting higher making for more favorable hiking conditions. Maybe the snow will start to melt faster and you won’t need the snowshoes.
High West Distillery Tour
High West is a distiller of premium single, double and triple rye whiskeys. These premium whiskeys are exceptional and headquartered outside of Park City in Wanship, Utah. They offer magnificent tours of their distillery. Here you can enjoy the wonders of whiskey in their tasting room, take a stroll through their gift shop and enjoy a meal.
