6 Fall Events in Salt Lake City Utah 2021

Utah loves the fall and Halloween. There are so many Halloween and fall events in Salt Lake City Utah ranging from scariest in the nation to non-scary family events that young kids would enjoy. When Pumpkin Spice Lattes come back, Halloween is back, the weather is miraculously colder, flannels come out and fall is in the air. Here are 6 local favorite fall events in Salt Lake City Utah that are family friendly.

Cornbelly's Corn Maze & Pumpkin Fest

Cornbelly’s is opening a second location in Spanish Fork, Utah alongside their flagship location at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. This is a family friendly fall-time venue. Unlike the other 4 haunted attractions in Utah, Cornbelly’s is great for corn mazes, pumpkin patches to take pictures and group events. This is the non-scary side of Halloween. Check out the 55+ attractions at the Thanksgiving Point location which offers fun for all ages.

Witchfest at Gardner Village

Gardner Village Witchfest is Garner Village’s 45-day celebration of everything witches! Enjoy incredible events for the whole family like: Breakfast with a Witch, Witchapalooza Music Dinner Theatre, Mystique Dining, The Prestige: Parlour of Magic, a Witches 5k/10k/half marathon and Witches Night Out (currently in its 21st year). Gardner Village features an array of locally-owned specialty shops that surround the former flour mill for all of Witchfest.

Pumpkin Days at Wheeler Historic Farm

Wheeler Historic Farm Pumpkin Days is a month-long celebration of Halloween and Fall in general. Running from September 24th-October 31st, Pumpkin Days has many activities for those looking for the not-so-scary side of Halloween. Popular activities include the Straw Maze, Corn Pit and the Pedal Tractor Track. There are other activities that are fun for the whole family. What would Pumpkin Days be without a pumpkin patch? You’re able to purchase pumpkins to carve up and add to those front porch decorations as well.

Sleepy Hollow Wagon Ride

Sleepy Hollow Wagon Ride takes you through the foggy haunted forests between Springville City and Utah Lake while listening to Washington Irvine’s short story of the Headless Horseman. The secluded path and actors in the field coincide with scenes from the short story. The Sleepy Hollow Wagon Ride is appropriate for the whole family. This experience is Halloween themed and meant to be eerie but all age groups are welcome. However, be aware that the later in the evening, the darker, the more scary the ride becomes. The venue recommends groups with younger children come early in the evenings

Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point

Thanksgiving Point Scarecrow Festival runs from October 11-16th in the Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point. This is a week-long festival where dozens of locally created scarecrows are on display in the 50-acre Ashton Gardens. The scarecrows are built and submitted by members of the community. There are prizes for People’s Choice, Judge’s Choice and the Grand Prize. Additionally, there’s live music, food from Thanksgiving Point Concessions and outdoor games.

Dia de Los Muertos at Thanksgiving Point

Dia de Los Muertos is a Latin American holiday that celebrates the memories of friends and family who have passed away. Rumor has it that the dead rise from their eternal sleep to rejoin their communities to join in the celebration. The event will be held in the Show Barn at Thanksgiving Point on October 23rd 2021 from 11:00AM-8:00PM. Sights and sounds of Dia de los Muertos will fill the Show Barn with decorated (and fake) calacas and calaveras (skeletons and skulls). Dancers wearing colorful Latin American dresses perform along mariachi bands, storytellers and singers.
